HyperX QuadCast S: choose how the microphone hears the room

A solo stream and a conversation across a table ask different things of a microphone. QuadCast S gives you four pickup patterns in one USB unit, with physical gain control and a headphone output. The RGB version shown here also makes the microphone part of the desk’s lighting, while its stand and shock mount provide a starting point for everyday use.

Match the pattern to the people speaking

Choose cardioid for a voice in front of the microphone, bidirectional for speakers on opposite sides, omnidirectional for sound around it, or stereo when a left/right sense of space is useful. Three 14mm electret condenser capsules support these choices.

The pattern controls where the microphone is most sensitive; it does not separate voices automatically. Set it first, position everyone sensibly, then listen to a short recording before committing to a longer session.

Check the voice you are actually sending

The rear 3.5mm headphone socket lets you monitor the microphone, while the gain dial adjusts input sensitivity. Start with a modest level and leave room for louder words. USB-C on the microphone connects to the computer through the supplied USB-A cable, with capture up to 48kHz at 16-bit.

The included shock mount helps with transmitted vibration and an internal pop filter softens breath bursts. Neither replaces thoughtful placement: keep the microphone away from impacts and avoid speaking directly into it from extremely close range.

Lighting and mute have different jobs

The top touch sensor provides a quick mute action and the illumination gives a visible status cue. RGB effects can be customized through supported HyperX NGENUITY software. Set the lighting to suit the camera and room rather than letting it distract from the conversation.

The microphone supports PC, Mac, PS4 and PS5. For a boom arm, the included adapter accepts 3/8-inch and 5/8-inch mounts; the arm itself is separate.
