Valkyrie Vind DL125 Black: plan the build around two cooling towers

Vind DL125 gives a black build a substantial air-cooling centrepiece. Two fin stacks sit across the CPU area, with an illuminated fan at the front and another between the towers. It rewards a little planning before the rest of the case is filled with cables.

A wider cooling layout

Six heat pipes feed the two fin stacks, while the pair of U12 fans moves air through them. The front-and-centre fan arrangement gives the assembly its depth, so check the space near RAM as well as the case’s height limit.

Install hard-to-reach motherboard cables first. This can save you from removing a fan just to reach a connector behind the tower.

158mm is the starting measurement

The specified height is 158mm. If a fan must be raised to clear tall RAM, the installed assembly can become taller. Allow for the actual fan position when checking whether the side panel closes.

Also leave access to the clips for future cleaning. A component that technically fits can still be awkward to service if everything around it is pressed tightly together.

Light and airflow have different controls

The U12 fans use PWM for speed and ARGB for lighting. Route the leads clear of both sets of blades and check that the fans send air in the same direction.

Start with a balanced fan curve and observe a normal workload. More aggressive settings make sense when the sustained temperatures need them, rather than simply because two fans are available.

Who should consider it?

  • A builder with room around the CPU and RAM.
  • A windowed case where the twin-tower shape is part of the look.
  • A system with a planned intake and exhaust route.

The DL125 is a good format to consider when you want substantial air-cooling hardware and can accommodate its full footprint without sacrificing access to the surrounding components.
