Logitech G402 Hyperian Fury

Logitech G402 Hyperion Fury: extra controls on a familiar right-hand shape

The Logitech G402 Hyperion Fury gives your thumb and index finger access to extra commands around a shaped right-hand body. It weighs 108 g without the cable and uses rubber grips along the sides. The appeal is the combination of accessible controls and a substantial shape for games that ask for several actions in quick succession.

Give eight buttons eight sensible jobs

The eight programmable buttons can be configured through the supported Logitech Gaming Software. Choose a few actions you repeatedly reach for on the keyboard, then move those to comfortable mouse positions. Make sure you can press the thumb controls without changing how you hold the mouse.

Switch sensitivity when the task changes

The Fusion Engine hybrid system combines an optical sensor with Logitech Delta Zero technology and supplementary tracking. Sensitivity reaches 4,000 DPI, with on-the-fly switching for different situations. The DPI-shift control can provide a separate sensitivity while you hold it, useful when you want finer cursor movement for a particular action.

Keep the wired connection straightforward

A 2.1 m USB cable supplies power and data, and the report rate is 1,000 Hz. There is no battery or wireless receiver in the routine. The body is long enough that grip preference matters: check whether your fingers reach the front controls comfortably before deciding how to assign them.

Set up around the way you hold it

Blue logo lighting provides a simple visual accent. The rubber grip surfaces help define the contact areas, but your own hand position and available desk space remain part of the fit.

• Leave room for the cable to move freely.
• Set one everyday sensitivity and one useful alternative.
• Test the DPI-shift button without tightening your grip.

The G402 is a good candidate when you value extra commands, a right-hand contour and a simple wired connection.
