Storm Elite M988 is built around movement: a perforated upper shell, textured sides and a flexible cable keep its physical design focused on the mouse hand. The RGB line follows the edge of the body, while the PixArt PMW3389 handles tracking. It offers a different feel from a heavy, solid-shell mouse without introducing batteries or a wireless receiver.
At approximately 85g, Storm Elite suits players who want a relatively light wired mouse. Its honeycomb shell removes material from the upper body, while the flexible 1.8m cable helps reduce the feeling of a stiff lead pulling at the front.
Keep enough mousepad space for your chosen sensitivity. A low setting needs a wider physical sweep, regardless of how light the mouse feels.
Redragon’s M988 specification lists the PMW3389 optical sensor at up to 16,000 DPI and a 1,000 Hz polling rate. Begin with a sensitivity that lets you stop comfortably on a target. Changing DPI and in-game sensitivity together makes it harder to understand which adjustment helped.
Programmable controls can take over actions such as push-to-talk, inventory or an application shortcut. Place a frequently used command on a button you can reach without shifting your grip. RGB settings let the mouse follow the rest of the desk’s colour scheme.
The openings are part of the shell design, so keep drinks and loose debris away. Disconnect the mouse before cleaning and avoid pushing dirt through the perforations.
